Yellow Thunder Scholarship Information

The Yellow Thunder Snowmobile Club is proud to present two $500 scholarships annually
to deserving club members pursuing secondary education at an accredited institution of higher learning. Requirements are as follows:

  1. Applicant must be an individual member, son, daughter, or legal ward of a family having current membership in Yellow Thunder Snowmobile Club with two consecutive year’s prior membership.
  2. Applicant must show proof of intention to enroll or proof of current enrollment at an accredited institution of higher learning (i.e., acceptance letter, admission forms, transcripts, etc.).
  3. Applicant must maintain a “C Average” or better during their first semester of enrollment (i.e., 2.0 on a 4.0 scale).
  4. Applicant must provide the date of satisfactory completion of snowmobile safety course if your birthdate is January 1, 1985 or later.
  5. Applicant must complete the Scholarship Application, Individual Activity Profile, and a 250-word or less type-written essay on “What Snowmobiling Means to Me”, which should include personal snowmobiling experience.

All applications must be submitted to the Yellow Thunder Scholarship Committee no later than February 15, of current year. Applications will be judged on snowmobile club involvement, school and community involvement, and the knowledge of snowmobiling portrayed through the submitted essay. Additional consideration will be given toward neatness, accurate spelling, and correct grammar within the essay and application. Your name should be included on all pages returned. All decisions made by the Yellow Thunder Scholarship Committee will be final. The Yellow Thunder Scholarship Committee reserves the right to contact applicants for interviews if needed.

Scholarship money will be awarded following the receipt of a registered transcript after completion of one semester from the accredited institution of higher learning.
